I think I was lost on the implicit differentiation questions. I get the stuff with the concepts, but I totally hate how sometimes I can't apply it correctly.

Although I know derivatives won't be applied in this manner for engineering, but the concept's important x(.Rencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11112931316863902414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-781836819966406887.post-17370347505581680852008-11-28T23:12:00.000-06:002008-11-28T23:12:00.000-06:00Post test BOB.Well overall I found it extremely ha...Post test BOB.

Well overall I found it extremely hard. I get some of the stuff conceptually, but when it comes to applying the material to questions, I usually get lost. The algebra stuff is definitely my best, and even that is muddy at best.

Chain rule, Implicit Differentiation, and Related Rates problems are the triple threat killers in my book. All of them are basically a one hit KO for me at present. :\

Overall derivatives are offering me so much trouble its ridiculous. It's pretty much solely because of them I've basically decided to take Cal 1 again in university.

Hopefully though, things will get better, now that we will have more thorough descriptions/definitions/explanations of the material.Skylinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01568717615163281810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-781836819966406887.post-3903959023514226072008-11-26T22:02:00.000-06:002008-11-26T22:02:00.000-06:00Jamie, this is hard stuff. Others stick it through to the end and come out the other side OK. Remind me to tell you all about the "average" scores on the AP exam tomorrow.Darren Kuropatwahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08462283847470560887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-781836819966406887.post-64241104575533282232008-11-26T21:07:00.000-06:002008-11-26T21:07:00.000-06:00i like your name tag =)i like your name tag =)zephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14129231104888254698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-781836819966406887.post-7557682280232087692008-11-26T18:51:00.000-06:002008-11-26T18:51:00.000-06:00POST BOBby Flay.. I honestly practice these concepts solving problems and reading from another book, but I my tests don't seem to reflect that. As for this unit, there are some points that I am almost completely vague about, but I didn't realize that they were problems. For example, implicit functions. I know I was on the right track, isolating the y values, but I didn't exactly FINISH with the right steps. As for the other questions that got me, well. Once again, I kind of feel like I spend all this time trying to figure it out, yet I can't seem to prove myself. Because I know I'm capable of more..and if I continue like this, then I'll be...failing, both my grades and most importantly, my own expectations. I really hope I can get better at this and find a way how..:. I was also in the same boat as you when expecting a rates of change problem since we seemed to spend quite a bit of time on them. Plus, it would've tested me to see if I really understood them or not after all that studying XD.

As for the the hardest parts for me, I would say the implicit differentiation questions (I think there were only 2 on the test). I ended up completely forgetting the process as to how to solve them -_-. Good thing we were able to omit one long answer question because I'm pretty sure I did "okay" on the last one.

Yep, that's pretty much the main things I was concerned about and I'm certain that I passed this time. Although, I'm not sure if I got a good mark or not since last time when I thought I did good, I failed XD. So who knows!kristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12365815325056314375noreply@blogger.com
